Overview
Manpower is seeking to recruit a Head of Department to join our client's team.
The role holds full accountability for departmental performance, including sales growth, project execution, technical services, and people management. As a senior leadership position, the Head of Department ensures that business objectives are achieved through effective strategy execution, operational excellence, and strong customer and stakeholder relationships, while maintaining compliance with company policies, local regulations, and industry standards across all operating regions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the On‑Site Energy department across Malta and EU
- Lead, develop, and manage sales and technical teams.
- Set departmental objectives and KPIs and monitor performance against company goals.
- Oversee planning and execution of on‑site energy projects, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget, and specification‑compliant delivery.
- Lead all technical sales activities, including tenders, proposals, quotations, and contract negotiations.
- Drive sales performance and support key accounts and major commercial opportunities.
- Ensure quality delivery of after‑sales service, maintenance agreements, and technical support.
- Act as the main point of contact for key customers, partners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and Health & Safety standards.
- Prepare and present departmental reports to executive management on sales, KPIs, and project status.
- Support and oversee the departments digital presence and communication initiatives in line with company branding and growth.
Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Energy Systems) or Business Management; a Masters degree or MBA is considered an asset.
- Minimum 7–10 years of relevant professional experience, including senior or departmental leadership responsibility.
- Proven experience in on-site energy systems, power generation, EPC projects, or industrial engineering environments.
- Demonstrated success in technical sales leadership, including tendering, proposal development, and contract negotiation.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and delivering performance through KPIs and structured management processes.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent commercial awareness and strategic thinking ability.
- Proven capability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- High level of problem-solving ability and adaptability in a dynamic business environment
- Fluency in English is required; additional languages are considered an asset.
