Financial Controller
Job Description:
Manpower is recruiting on behalf of one of its clients for a commercially minded Financial Controller to join the organisation on a full-time basis.
This role sits close to senior leadership and plays a central part in shaping financial visibility, operational discipline, and decision-making across the business.
The successful candidate will act as both a financial steward and a strategic partner, supporting growth through strong controls, insight, and process development.
General Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the preparation of periodic financial results and ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Maintaining oversight of balance sheet positions, reconciliations, liquidity, and internal control frameworks.
- Coordinating statutory obligations, including audits, tax matters, and liaison with external advisors.
- Producing and enhancing financial reports for senior stakeholders, covering profitability, KPIs, and financial position.
- Analysing performance trends and commercial drivers across projects, teams, and business units.
- Contributing to budgeting cycles, forecast updates, and scenario or financial modelling exercises.
- Providing financial oversight of projects, including cost tracking, revenue recognition, margin analysis, and work-in-progress management.
- Collaborating with senior operational stakeholders to improve forecasting accuracy, billing practices, and commercial outcomes.
- Reviewing client billing activity, collections, and assisting in resolving financial or contractual discrepancies.
- Driving improvements in finance systems, workflows, automation, and documentation to increase efficiency and data reliability.
- Supporting finance operations and coordinating administrative finance activities where required.
- Working closely with HR and management on payroll data, staffing metrics, and reporting needs.
- Acting as a trusted financial advisor to leadership across operational and strategic matters.
Requirements:
- A recognised qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification or progression towards one will be considered an asset.
- Several years of experience in financial control, management accounting, audit, or similar roles, preferably within project-driven or professional services environments.
- Sound knowledge of project-based financial principles and performance tracking.
- Strong proficiency in spreadsheet tools and hands-on experience with accounting or reporting systems.
- Able to communicate clearly and confidently with senior stakeholders.
- Highly organised, analytical, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
