Quantity Surveyor (MEP)
Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially aware Quantity Surveyor – MEP to join our client team. The successful candidate will be responsible for quantity surveying, contract administration, cost control, and claims management across multiple construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit payment applications, variation orders, and contractual claims.
- Administer contracts and support claims in line with FIDIC conditions.
- Conduct quantity measurements and verify completed work with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Obtain and follow up on Certificates of Payment (CoP).
- Perform quantity take-offs from IFC and shop drawings using Bluebeam.
- Prepare and review BOQs, progress valuations, and supporting payment documentation.
- Monitor site progress through regular inspections and update valuation records accordingly.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure accurate reporting.
- Support project cost control, budgeting, and monthly commercial reviews.
- Liaise with the Accounts Department to track payments and reconcile claims.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in MEP projects (Electrical, Mechanical, and HVAC).
- Proficiency in Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to read and interpret IFC and shop drawings.
- Strong understanding of BOQs, quantity take-offs, and cost control.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.
