Senior Auditor / Audit Supervisor / Audit Manager

  • Marsaxlokk, Malta, Malta
  • Full-Time
  • On-Site

Job Description:

On behalf of our client, Manpower Malta is seeking a experienced audit professional to join our client's team, to help continue building a strong, efficient audit function. Youll take responsibility for a portfolio of audit engagements, manage and develop a small team of auditors, and work closely with the Founder on planning, technical work, and finalisation.

This role suits either a solid Senior ready to step up, or an established Supervisor/Manager looking for a role with more ownership and impact.

What Youll Be Doing

Leading audit engagements

  • Take charge of a portfolio of statutory audits from the initial planning stage right through to completion.
  • Keep timelines, budgets, and client communication on track.
  • Handle more complex or high‑risk areas yourself where needed.

Reviewing and ensuring quality

  • Review audit work prepared by juniors, making sure its complete, accurate, and in line with the required standards.
  • Flag issues early, resolve what you can, and escalate bigger technical matters to the Founder.
  • Make sure files are properly completed, documented, and ready for final sign‑off.

Managing and supporting a small team

  • Delegate fieldwork to juniors and guide them throughout the audit.
  • Provide on-the-job support, feedback, and coaching.
  • Help shape a workflow where the team feels supported and audits move consistently forward.

Working closely with clients

  • Communicate directly with clients to request information, discuss issues, and clear audit points.
  • Build relationships where clients feel they can rely on you as the main point of contact.

Improving how we work

  • Support the Founder with workflow planning, resource allocation, and improving our audit processes as we grow.

What Were Looking For

Must have:

  • Experience at Senior Auditor, Supervisor, or Manager level in external audit.
  • Strong practical grounding in planning, executing, and reviewing audit work.
  • Ability to juggle multiple engagements and deadlines confidently.
  • Good communication skills—comfortable speaking with clients and raising issues internally.
  • Solid understanding of audit standards and financial reporting (IFRS or GAPSME).
  • High attention to detail and strong documentation habits.
  • ACCA or equivalent qualification.

Nice to have:

  • Experience reviewing files and taking responsibility for audit quality.
  • Any previous team‑leading or mentoring experience.

What Success Looks Like (First 3–6 Months)

  • Youve taken over your audit portfolio smoothly and with minimal disruption.
  • The juniors working with you are clear on their tasks and progressing well.
  • File reviews become consistent and quality issues reduce.
  • The Founder only gets involved in genuinely complex matters—not everyday issues.
  • Audits move steadily through planning fieldwork review completion.
